Program Directory

The detailed program narratives below outline the full NLIP implementation pathways, serving as the single source of truth for our literacy interventions.

Signature Program: Phonics Training & School Support

Signature Program: Phonics Training & School Support is Ozeki's NLIP core implementation pathway for turning national literacy data into better classroom teaching and measurable reading gains. We equip teachers with practical, step-by-step structured phonics routines and then provide ongoing in-school coaching to ensure the methods are used consistently, not just understood in training. Each cycle combines school diagnostics, teacher professional development, classroom observation and feedback, learner assessments, and follow-up action plans so schools can see exactly where learners are struggling (sounds, decoding, fluency, comprehension), target support, and track improvement over time. Through NLIP, every training and visit generates evidence helping schools strengthen instruction term by term and progress toward sustained literacy routines and graduation readiness.

Evidence generated:teaching quality scores, reading levels, assessment coverage, progress movement

Teacher Professional Development (Structured Phonics)

Teacher Professional Development (Structured Phonics) is our practical training pathway that equips teachers to teach reading the right way, step by step, in a sequence that matches how children learn to read. Training is demonstration-based and classroom-ready: teachers learn pure letter sounds, sound-symbol mapping, blending and segmenting routines, decoding and spelling (encoding), tricky-word instruction, fluency building, and comprehension routines that fit each grade. Every session ends with an implementation plan and follow-up date, so teachers immediately apply the routines in class. Through the platform, the training is not just an event; it becomes measurable improvement as attendance, follow-up coaching, lesson evaluations, and learner assessments show whether instruction quality and reading outcomes are moving.

Evidence generated:attendance by role and gender, follow-up completion, lesson evaluation gains, learner reading movement

In-School Coaching & Mentorship

In-School Coaching & Mentorship is our classroom implementation engine, turning training into daily practice and sustained improvement. Ozeki coaches visit schools to observe real reading lessons using a standard lesson evaluation tool, provide immediate feedback, model phonics routines, and support teachers through structured coaching cycles and follow-up visits. Mentorship focuses on the highest-impact skills: clear sound teaching, blending/segmenting, decoding, fluency routines, error correction, and quick checks, so teachers gain confidence and consistency. Through the platform, every coaching visit generates evidence and connects to learner assessment data to show whether improved instruction translates into better reading levels and comprehension.

Evidence generated:teaching quality scores by domain, baseline-to-follow-up improvement, priority action completion, linked learner outcomes

Learner Assessments & Progress Tracking

Learner Assessments & Progress Tracking is our measurement backbone, providing simple, reliable data that schools can use to improve instruction and prove progress. Ozeki supports schools to run baseline, progress, and endline assessments that capture the core reading outcome areas (sounds, decoding, fluency/CWPM and accuracy, and comprehension), and the system automatically assigns each learner a reading level and aggregates results into clear school and district profiles. Teachers and leaders can see where learners are stuck, use data to group learners, target catch-up instruction, and monitor movement term by term. Assessment data links to coaching visits, training follow-ups, and teaching quality scores so progress tracking becomes a national evidence system that guides decisions and supports graduation readiness.

Evidence generated:reading levels, CWPM bands, comprehension proficiency, assessment coverage, movement by term

Remedial & Catch-Up Reading Interventions

Remedial & Catch-Up Reading Interventions is our targeted recovery pathway for schools where many learners are still non-readers or below the minimum benchmark. Using assessment results, the platform flags priority learners and guides teachers to run structured small-group lessons that rebuild missing foundations: sounds, blending/segmenting, decoding, accuracy, fluency, and early comprehension, supported by coaching, simple routines, and frequent progress checks. Every cycle is tracked in the platform to show movement from non-reader to fluent and to determine when a school can transition from remediation to graduation preparation.

Evidence generated:catch-up group coverage, non-reader reduction, skill-domain progress checks, non-reader-to-fluent movement

Reading Materials Development (Learners)

Reading Materials Development equips schools with learner-friendly decodable and leveled texts aligned to phonics progression, so practice matches what teachers have taught and learners can succeed. Ozeki develops reading passages, practice sheets, and classroom text sets that increase meaningful reading time, reduce guessing, and build fluency and comprehension. The platform supports school-level distribution visibility and links usage to classroom implementation priorities.

Evidence generated:materials coverage by school and grade, resource usage, reading-practice volume, fluency and comprehension support alignment

Teaching Aids & Instructional Resources (Teachers)

Teaching Aids & Instructional Resources (Teachers) equips classrooms with practical tools that make structured phonics easy to deliver consistently. This includes sound charts, flashcards, blending boards, word lists, lesson templates, and teacher guides aligned to the phonics sequence and assessment expectations. Within the platform, materials distribution and usage are tracked so schools and partners can see what is available, what is being used, and how it supports teaching quality and learner progress.

Evidence generated:materials distribution, resource usage, teaching quality indicators, learner progress alignment

School Literacy Program Strengthening (Systems & Routines)

School Literacy Program Strengthening (Systems & Routines) establishes school-wide structures that protect reading time and ensure implementation continues beyond one-off training. Ozeki supports literacy timetables, daily and weekly routines, classroom organization for reading, and simple accountability tools that track teacher implementation and learner progress. The platform helps leaders monitor routine consistency and target support where school systems are weakest.

Evidence generated:routine implementation consistency, supervision frequency, timetable protection, teacher support actions, learner progress continuity

Instructional Leadership Support (Headteachers & DOS)

Instructional Leadership Support (Headteachers & DOS) strengthens school leadership to protect reading time and sustain quality instruction beyond one-off trainings. We equip Headteachers and Directors of Studies with simple supervision tools: observation checklists, coaching conversation guides, lesson routines, and data-use templates, so they can monitor implementation, support teachers, and act on learner results. The platform links leadership actions to teaching quality and reading outcomes, making accountability visible and improvement manageable.

Evidence generated:leadership supervision records, follow-up actions, teaching quality linkage, reading outcome linkage

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting is our evidence engine, ensuring delivery quality, outcome tracking, and partner-ready accountability. We collect and analyze data from trainings, coaching visits, lesson evaluations, assessments, reading levels, and 1001 Story participation to produce credible reports at school, district, region, and national levels. Outputs include dashboards, briefs, quarterly snapshots, and annual reports with clear indicators (n, completeness, tool versions) to guide decisions and demonstrate impact.

Evidence generated:n, completeness, tool versions, outcome trends, school-to-national report outputs

Literacy Content Creation & Advocacy

Literacy Content Creation & Advocacy extends the platform beyond sessions and visits by publishing practical, implementation-focused guidance for teachers and school leaders. We produce toolkits, articles, lesson tips, and short guides that reinforce best practice in phonics, remediation, fluency, comprehension, and assessment use. NLIP tracks engagement with these resources and surfaces the most useful content to schools based on their needs and performance gaps.

Evidence generated:resource engagement, topic uptake, needs-based content matching, implementation-linked usage

The 1001 Story Project

The 1001 Story Project is our structured learner authorship program that strengthens writing while reinforcing reading through purposeful practice. Teachers are trained to guide learners through prompt-based drafting, revision, read-aloud cycles, spelling and sentence improvement, and final editing; then stories are compiled into school anthologies for publishing (PDF and/or print, funding dependent). The platform tracks participation and outputs (sessions, drafts, published stories, anthologies) and connects story activity to literacy outcomes, helping schools build reading culture, learner confidence, and locally relevant materials alongside measurable academic gains.

Evidence generated:story sessions, drafts, published stories, anthology outputs, participation rates, literacy outcome linkage
