Sponsor Literacy in a Sub-Region
Targeted, measurable literacy improvement across one sub-region. Every school, every teacher, every learner — coached, assessed, and supported for two years.
$1,100 per school · 2-year commitment · NLIP-powered evidence
Why sponsor a sub-region?
A sub-region is the ideal unit for high-impact literacy investment. Large enough to generate system-level change, focused enough to ensure every school gets meaningful support. Your investment creates a proof point that local leaders and future partners can build on.
Focused depth, not scattered reach
A sub-region is large enough to generate system-level change, but focused enough for every school to receive meaningful support and follow-up. This is the sweet spot for targeted investment.
District leaders see results they trust
Sub-regional data helps district education officers identify what is working and where to redirect resources. Your investment generates evidence that local leaders actually use.
Attract further investment
A sub-region that shows clear improvement becomes a proof point. Government and other partners are more likely to expand support when they see credible, localised evidence of what works.
Coordinated across districts
Schools in the same sub-region share teachers, coaching resources, and leadership structures. Sponsoring at this level ensures the entire support ecosystem is strengthened together.
What happens over 2 years
Structured support with follow-through: train → coach → assess → improve → verify, repeated consistently until strong reading instruction becomes routine.
School support visits
Schools receive repeated coaching support through structured visits each year. Phonics lesson observation, demonstration lessons, teacher mentoring, and leadership routines.
Four assessment rounds
The sub-region completes four assessment rounds across two years: Baseline → Progress checks → Endline. Improvement is tracked, gaps identified early, and support is targeted.
Leadership strengthening
Headteachers and Directors of Studies are supported to monitor reading instruction regularly. Leaders use learner data to make decisions and schools sustain routines beyond external support.
Targeted remedial activation
Where results show high proportions of non-readers or weak decoding, NLIP triggers structured remedial and catch-up support. This ensures the weakest schools improve, not only the strongest.

Expected outcomes
After two years of structured support, your sub-region will have measurable literacy improvements — tracked through NLIP and reported with full credibility markers so you can trust every data point.
- Consistent improvement in reading levels across all districts in the sub-region
- Fewer non-readers in lower primary (P1–P3) within two years
- Teachers in every school using structured phonics instruction daily
- School leaders actively supervising literacy routines
- District-level evidence showing which schools have improved and by how much
- A replicable model that neighbouring sub-regions and districts can adopt
